DOUGLAS E. BIBLER Obituary
Douglas E. Bibler, 71, Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away March 3, 2014, in Warrensburg at the Missouri Veterans Home from Lewy Body Dementia. Funeral to be Thursday, March 6, at Floral Hills Funeral Home with visitation at 11 a.m., service at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Douglas was born April 30, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., to Fern and Minnie (Wessley) Bibler. He graduated from Central High School in KCMO in 1960. After working with his father and mother at their Spruce Garage, 4301 E. 27th St., KCMO, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and became a member of the 5th Field Maintenance Squad (SAC) unit stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield, Calif. He was stationed near Fairbanks, Alaska, at the Eielson AFB where he maintained the KC-135A in flight tanker/refueler and B52-G bombers. After four years of military service he was employed with TWA as an electrical engineer, electrical maintenance manager, and master engineer systems and controls consultant. During his employment with TWA, Douglas earned a BA in 1976 from Park College in Parkville, Mo., and in 1978 an MA from Webster University, Overland Park, Kan., both in Business Administration/Management. Douglas is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pollard); daughter, Victoria (Bibler) Dedic, his step-daughter, Sara McAtee and step-son, Chad McAtee and his wife; five grandchildren, Emily, Chloe, and Hope Dedic and Tate and Brody McAtee; his brother, Fred Bibler and his wife Pat and their children and families. Doug was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are entrusted to Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in honor/memory of Douglas E.
