E. Jean Kerley, 86, Springfield, passed away November 16, 2012, in Springfield, MO. She was born January 8, 1926, in Kansas City, MO, to Clifford and Gladys (Wilson) Carter. Jean graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. She attended Baker University from 1943 to 1944, and graduated from UMKC in 1948 with a music history degree. Jean married Robert Kerley on June 10, 1948. She was an elementary school teacher for 18 years, retiring in 1984. Jean has lived in Springfield, MO, since 1986. She was a member of Campbell United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Greg Kerley. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Kerley and Jon Kerley; 4 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Campbell United Methodist Church, 1747 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield, MO.
