Obituary Condolences

Geo. 'Darell' Molder, 83, of Kansas City, KS, passed away peacefully at home with his family and Sacred Heart Hospice on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 9 to 11 am Saturday morning, August 31, prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sacred Heart Hospice in care of the funeral home. Darell was born Feb. 22, 1930 to Arlie and Leona Molder in Humansville, MO. He was the 4th of 8 children born into that family. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Darell married the love of his life, Hazel June Stewart of Armourdale, KS, on June 10, 1953 They lived an active full life in the Kansas City area. Darell was a member of the Delaware and Wyandotte Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He retired from truck driving with Associated Wholesale Grocers after 43 years. Darell and Hazel enjoyed their retirement by traveling with their camper to Bluegrass festivals. If music was playing, Darell could be found dancing. He was known to his family and friends as the 'Jitterbug' and there wasn't a single person he wouldn't stop to help or talk to. Darell was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Leona Molder, his brothers Gerald, Vivian A. Molder, Buddy Molder and 1 sister Anna May Wells. Surviving are his wife Hazel Molder of the home, 1 brother Donnie Joe Molder of Bonner Springs, KS 2 sisters Mary Marcene Miller of Warrenton, MO and Emma Lou Larson of Kansas City, KS and a large loving family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
