HOMER T. FIELDS Obituary
Homer T. Fields (lovingly known as 'Tom,' 'Tommy,' and 'HT') died peacefully at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri on May 3, 2013 after a very short battle with cancer. Tom was born on March 14, 1948 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Grey Fields and Mary Pickering. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Grey and Mary, and the mother who raised him, Mona Fields. Tom is survived by his brother, Bill Lowe and wife Karen; his sisters, Margie Cardenez and Sally McMann; his daughters, Tanya Kelly and husband Jack, Chari Young and husband Jason, Mary Fields-Rodriguez and husband Luis, and seven grandchildren, Cory Miller, Drew Miller, Maddie Fields, Rosie Rodriguez, Bella Rodriguez, Franni Young and Tristan Young. Tom loved the outdoors, boating, fishing, bird watching, playing cards, grandchild play time, family gatherings, reading, listening to music of all genres and playing pranks on friends and family alike. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served honorably in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. Tom was a beloved Daddy, Grandpa, brother and uncle and his quietly mischievous and loving presence will be missed. Funeral service 12:00 Friday May 10, 2013, at White Chapel Funeral Home, with visitation from 10am to 12pm. Military Honor to follow the service.
