Obituary Condolences

REATHA AZEL BROWNING ADAMS Reatha Azel Browning Adams, 91, of Kansas City, Kan., died at Emeritus of Overland Park April 16, 2014. Reatha was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Amber, Okla., to E.E. "Bud" and Lillie Browning. She attended Central State University in Edmond, Okla. On June 29, 1950, she was married to Glen Adams. Reatha was one of 12 siblings whom she loved dearly. She grew up during the Depression Era. She was a devoted pastor's wife, a wonderful school teacher, and an incredible and loving mother. She loved children and dedicated 30 years of her life to the public schools in Oklahoma and in Kansas City, Kan. She was part of "The Browning Sisters' Quartet," that she and her sisters delighted others with their singing. Reatha was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene in Lenexa, Kan. Reatha is survived by her children, Jannifer Nelson, San Diego, Calif., Reginald Adams (Delia), Overland Park, Kan., Melodie Cole (Paul Jr.), Broken Arrow, Okla., Cherri Stoltzfus (Byron), Olathe, Kan.; her siblings, Donna Browning (Darrell), Edward Browning (Loretta Jean), Elsie Browning Grout; her grandchildren, Paul Cole III, Gabriel Cole, Brooke Cole, Brittni Girk, Kyli Fink. She was preceded in death by twin brother, Reaford Browning, brother, Ray Browning, sisters, Vera Browning Hardy, Estalee Browning Aduddell, Juanita Browning Motley, Hazel Browning Phillips, Lillian Browning Ingersol, Moree Browning Brace; and grandson, Byron J. Stoltzfus. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, at Central Church of the Nazarene, 12600 West 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa, Kan., (913) 541-2600. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial at 12:30 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery.
