Antimo Finelli, 89, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Manor Care of Kenosha.

Born on Aug. 2, 1923, in Campoli, Province of Benevento, Italy, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Margherita Finelli.

Raised and educated in Italy, Antimo also served in the Italian Army during WWII and was a Prisoner of War in Russia. After his release from the military, he moved to the U.S. in 1951.

He was employed with AMC/Chrysler for a short time before his employment with Goodyear Tire, retiring after 10 years of service.

Antimo was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the Kenosha Senior Center and the Italian-American Society. He was active with local golf leagues, enjoyed playing cards, traveling and singing Opera. Blessed with his gift of music, he sang in the choir at both Mt. Carmel and St. Peter Catholic Churches. Antimo always looked forward to his weekly meals with his cousin, Katie, and enjoyed spending time with his extended family.

He is survived by his sister, Filomena Finelli and a nephew, Antimo Finelli both of Compoli, Italy; his cousins, Charles (Arlene) Lombardi, Arlene OConnor, Ronald (JoAnn) Tenuta, Maria Luciano and their families. Antimo is further survived by his extended family, the Loia family in New Jersey, the Buno family in Minnesota, the Donisi family in Colorado and California and the Buno family in Italy.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th Street. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Mt. Carmel Catholic Church or Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 would be appreciated by the family.
