Bernard M. Bernie Glynn, 85, of Trevor, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home. Bernie was born April 14, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Thomas and Naomi (nee Midick) Glynn. He spent his early life and attended St. Ritas Catholic High School in Chicago, IL. Bernie was a Navy veteran, having proudly served during WWII.

On Dec. 13, 1975, Bernie was united in marriage to Ruth The Lady Cameron. Following marriage they resided in Chicago, Ill., before moving to Trevor in April of 1988. Ruth preceded Bernie in death on May 24, 2001.

Bernie had worked as a carpenter for numerous construction companies in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Antioch, IL, as well as being a life member of the VFW Post 5220 in Oak Lawn, IL. Bernie was also a member of the Carpenters Local #62 and the Elks Club in Chicago, IL. During his high school years Bernie was a boxer.

He is survived by his daughters, Ruth (Bernard) Harte of Markham, Ill., Diane Schroeder of Salem, Starr Notarus of Bristol, Jan Deedy of California and Amber (Casey) Marcussen of Paddock Lake; a son, Sam Notarus of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael, Alan, George, Anthony, Kim, Maggie, Danny, Ruth, Starr, Harvey, John, Jason, Ashley, Ian and Danielle, 23 great-grandchildren, and by a sister-in-law, Gloria Smith of Florida. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
