Bernard Leo Johnson

1928 - 2012

Bernard Leo Johnson, 84, a resident of Kenosha, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2012.

Born on March 5, 1928, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna Johnson.

He served proudly in the U.S. Navy.

In May of 1950 he married Ida Graziano in Winthrop Harbor Ill. For 27 years, he was employed as a Firefighter for the City of Kenosha, he was a also a member of Firefighters Union Local #414. In addition he also worked for Vans Roofing and Siding for many years.

He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting and played softball with the firefighters in city leagues.

He was a wonderful father and a great husband and loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife, Ida; his son, Dave Smiley Johnson of Kenosha; daughter, Laura (Brian) DAngelo of Racine; son, Marty (Kay) Johnson of Mukwonago Wis.; and three grandchildren, Julie, Andrew and Jessica. He is further survived by four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hank, Gordon, Quintan and three sisters, Mabel, Orbel and Pat.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Kemper Center Founders Hall followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. (6501-3rd Avenue) Burial will take place on Friday at 12 noon at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
