Donald E. Crucianelli
1936 - 2014
Donald E. Papa Crucianelli, 78, of Kenosha, died on Sunday, March 30, 2014, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Kenosha on Feb. 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Rinaldo and Mary (Amendola) Crucianelli.
From 1954 until 1961, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy Reserves Co. A81 as an Electricians Mate Power & Light.
On June 7, 1958, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Elsie M. Johnson.
From 1954 until 1964, Don was employed as an auto mechanic with Risottos Garage in Kenosha. He began his career with American Motors Corp. in 1963 as an experimental mechanic in the Engineering Garage where he worked until 1967 at which time he moved out to the Automotive Test Facility in Burlington where he worked until 1988.
Donny was the proud co-owner with his brother in law Oscar Salas of Oz and Dons Pizza from 1979 until 1982. In 1988 he became the Plant Manager of North American Sintered Metal, a title he held until he retired in 1995.
He was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, serving as both an usher and a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and served as the Head of the Building and Grounds Committee. Don was known to cook many spaghetti dinners for St. Peters Catholic Church, and the CYO Band and Color Guard. He was also a member of the American Motors Supervisors Club, Alpine Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Crucianelli; his five children, Cindy Crucianelli, Beth Wolfe, Donna (Robert) Garza, Linda (Rob) Gallagher and Kay (Dave) Hawbaker; twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He is further survived by his three sisters, Anne Salas, Edie (Mike) Michaels and Mary (Bob) Heidtman; his brother-in-law, Hank Johnson; and his sister-in-law, Sue Grailer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rene Crucianelli; his sister, Laura Croucher; and brother-in-law, Oscar Salas.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
12 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church for the Mass. Private inurnment will take place. A visitation for Don will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Memorial remembrances would be appreciated.
