Howard Duke Granger

1931 - 2014

Howard Duke Granger, 82, of Sun City West, Ariz., passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

He was born in Kenosha, Wis., on Dec. 13, 1931, to the late Howard Granger and Agnes. Duke graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1950 and received a bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1954. He went on to serve in the United States Army, stationed in Panama during the Korean War.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Duke began his career at General Motors in their marketing department, a career that also had stops as President of Burton Klemp Corp., a Kenosha based manufacturer, and later Sales Manager of Alloy Product of Waukesha, Wis., where he raised his family. He retired to Sun City West, Ariz., in 1999.

Duke was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma while attending UW Madison. He was an active member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Waukesha, Wis., and Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Ariz.

Duke is survived by his sister, Betty (Granger) Mueller, of Brookfield, Wis.; and brother, Jim Granger, of Madison, Wis., and his four children, Patti Granger, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Andy Granger, of Simsbury, Conn., Linda (Granger) Stanek, of West Bend, Wis. and Dan Granger, of Mesa, Ariz. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

A small memorial service will be held at All Saints Mausoleum, Pleasant Prairie at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 with a luncheon immediately following.
