John Metallo, 81 of Oshkosh died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at Aurora medical Center. He was born June 18, 1932 in Kenosha the son of the late Emil and Rose Vena Metallo. He married Cyndi Proctor on Nov. 28, 1997 in Kenosha.
On Nov. 25, 1952, John entered the United States Army at Fort Sheridan. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on Sept. 24, 1954
John worked as a final inspector for AMC and later for the Daimler Chrysler Corp. in Kenosha and retired after 48 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi of Oshkosh; one brother, James (Georgeann) Metallo of Kenosha; two sisters, Marlene (Lyle) Hasenberg of Madison and Mary (Russell) Stellato of Bristol Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 122 W. Bent Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. The Rev. Collin Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, with graveside Military services in late March. Family and friends may call at the Church Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
A memorial service has been established for late March.
