After retirement, he enjoyed working with friend and fellow retired teacher, Jim Hansen, at Hansens Gardens. He loved traveling, gardening and fishing. Above all, Ken treasured the time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Ken leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 28 happy years, Lynn Steenhagen; his children, Colleen Steenhagen, Corey Steenhagen, Shawn (Rhonda) Steenhagen, Cameron (Nami) Steenhagen; Lynns children, Stephanie Busby, Lisa Busby, Keith Busby; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Don Steenhagen; sisters, Barb Smith, Pat (Fred) Powlenko; step-brother, Bob (Margaret) Mowers; and brother-in-law, Joseph Lakatos.

In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his brother, Bill (Jennie) Steenhagen; sister, Alice Lakatos; sister-in-law, Shirley Steenhagen; and brother-in-law, Frank Smith.
