Margaret M. Poppe, 91, of Kenosha died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Grand Prairie Health & Rehabilitation Center, Pleasant Prairie.

Born on May 27, 1922, in Ashland, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Morris) Lindquist.

Margaret was united in marriage to Mereld R. Poppe on June 1, 1946, in Ashland, WI; and moved to Kenosha in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1990.

She was employed with Jockey International as a supervisor in the Sample Department for over 30 years and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Margaret enjoyed RV travel and belonged to the Family Motor Camping Club, the Good Sams Camping Club and the Dusty Road Runners Camping Club. She was also a member of the Moose Club and the Kenosha Boat Club.

Margaret is survived by her nephew and nieces, Edward H. (Betty) Lindquist, Katherine M. Claudio and Doris D. Martinez as well as her husbands 13 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Mereld; and infant son who died at birth; her brother Dr. Edward Lindquist and her lifelong friend and companion, Kenneth E. Poppe.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Margaret will be held on Thursday, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance, Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI, 53158, would be appreciated by the family.
