Norman F. Norm Ergish
1918 - 2013
Norman F. Norm Ergish, 94, of Kenosha, Wis., and formerly of Zion, Ill., died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at home.
Norm was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Kenosha, Wis., and married Jennette Thompson on Feb. 17, 1945, in Chicago. He retired from the federal government after 28 years of service (mostly working at Ft. Sheridan) as a supervisor in plumbing and heating. After retirement he worked for Olson Oil for about six years. Norm was a veteran of the United States Army. His favorite hobby was golfing and he loved to square dance with his wife.
Survivors include sons, Michael (LaDonna) Ergish of Gurnee, Ill., and Timothy (Lisa) Ergish of Greenfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Phillip, Tyler, Lindsey, Miranda and Ronnie; ten great grandchildren; brother, Leo Red (Jayne) Ergish of Texas and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ergish; sister, Margaret June Ruhle; great grandson, Isaac; and his parents, Leo and Clara Ergish.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Ill. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Lung Association or Alliance Hospice of Kenosha.
