Peter J. Campagna
1931 - 2013
Peter J. Campagna, 81, of Kenosha, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Brookside Care Center, with his daughters by his side.
Born in Kenosha on Nov. 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Lamantia) Campagna. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Bradford High School.
From March 5, 1952. until his honorable discharge on June 16, 1953, he served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
On Feb. 21, 1953, at Calvary Baptist Church, he was married to Virginia M. Hoeke. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2008.
For over 14 years, Pete was employed in maintenance with Kenosha Unified School System. Previously, he was employed with Milk Producers as a delivery man for over 20 years.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Pete was a big Cadillac fan and loved all years and models. He enjoyed spending time detailing cars. Pete met many people and made many friendships by doing so. He was also an avid Packer fan, enjoyed playing slots and visiting Jerry Smiths Pumpkin Farm.
Pete will be remembered for his quick, keen sense of humor and his love for his daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sandra (Michael) Dodge of Kenosha, Vicki (David) Bruneau of Somers, and Joann (Thomas) Reisch of Kenosha; his five grandchildren, Deanna and Tim Dodge, Krista Bruneau, Kayla and Haley Roo Reisch; and his sister, Angeline Hegyera.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Casimir and Richard Campagna; and a sister, Nancy Tarsitano.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2026 22nd Avenue. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Peter will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home.
