Thomas J. Ortloff

1934 - 2013

Thomas J. Ortloff, 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center.

Born on Jan. 27, 1934, in Arlington, Minn., he was the son of the late Alfred and Isabel (Graupman) Ortloff.

Thomas served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in San Francisco, Calif., and served from March 3, 1952, until his honorable discharge on Nov. 2, 1954.

On June 15, 1957, in New York Mills, Minn., he was united in marriage to Judith Hammje. They were blessed with four children and 54 years of marriage before Judith passed away on March 3, 2012.

Thomas was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber in both the North Chicago and Tennessee plants. After retirement, he worked for the Taste of Wisconsin Restaurant and Charcoal Grill in Racine.

He was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, enjoyed vegetable gardening, was a Green Bay Packer fan and loved to support his children and grandchildren in all their special events.

He will be deeply missed by his four children, Randy (Pauline) Ortloff of Kenosha, Pam (Ed) Davis of Durand, Wis., Shelly (Kathy Kurtz) Shewmake of Kenosha and Vicki (Randy) Eller of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; his brother, Jerry (Adele) Ortloff of Cudahy; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5 until 7 p.m.
