Sullivan, Carol Kacer

Carol Kacer Sullivan, born Dec. 8, 1936, in Kewaunee, Wis., died May 31, 2013, in Redwood City Calif., after a long illness. She leaves husband, James Sullivan; son, Torrey (Sheri), Manhattan Beach; son, Michael (Konrad), Sacramento; and grandsons, Fisher and Caleb. Carol also leaves a brother, Pat Kacer, Kewaunee, Wis. Carol moved to California after graduating from the University of Wisconsin (Madison), earned a Master's degree from San Jose State, and retired from San Mateo County Adult Probation after nearly three decades of service. Carol was also an active volunteer with many organizations including Performing Arts for Youth of San Mateo County and Pacific Locomotive Association where she was the first woman admitted to full membership. She also volunteered at San Mateo schools including several years at the Aragon High School attendance office (much to the distress of her two sons). A celebration of her life will be held on June 29, 2013, 1 p.m., at the Highlands Recreation Center located at 1851 Lexington Ave, San Mateo, 94402.
