KINSTON - Elbert Wayne Brown, 81, of Kinston passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012. Mr. Brown was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired pilot with the N.C. Forestry Service. He was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon; enjoyed playing guitar and singing to his family and tinkering with model airplanes. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Williams Brown; children Debra Brown Glisson and husband Jim, and Roderick Wayne Brown and wife June, all of Goldsboro, and Cynthia Brown Howard of Kinston; grandchildren Brian Glisson, Amanda Grantham and husband Jared, Dyllan Brown, Logan Brown, and Landon Brown; great-grandchild Kylee Grantham; and beloved dog, Mac. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Doctor Wanda Neely officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2101 N.
