BYESS, ANNE HULLEY JACKSON - 92, of Knoxville, passed away July 21, 2013. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anne graduated from Marshall High School, where her favorite pastimes included roller skating and ice skating; and from the University of Minnesota, where she was active in Pi Beta Phi sorority. In 1951, Anne met and married William Freeman Byess, with whom she raised a family. They travelled with Bill's military service until settling in Village Green in Knoxville in 1967. In 1974, Bill and Anne retired to Green Valley, Arizona, where Anne was an active volunteer for many years with the White Elephant Thrift Store and with the Green Valley library. Her hobbies involved her love for music and crossword puzzles. Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; mother, Harriet Spratt Hulley Jackson; father, Dunham Jackson; aunt, Elizabeth Jackson; and nephew, William Thorpe. She is survived by sons, Richard (Margaret) and Timothy (Jane); sister, Mary Eloise Thorpe; grandchildren, Abbie, Jimmy, CharlotteAnne, and McClain; nieces, Tory (Trish) and Melanie; nephew, Chris (Wendy); and niece, Anne Willis Berry.
