KLEIN, BRUCE - age 71, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Friday October 11, 2013. A much loved father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, he was born March 30, 1942, in Tampa Florida, and resided in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the last 26 years. Bruce was preceded by his mother, Margret Klein (nee Malecka); father, Robert Morgan; step father who raised him, John Klein; nephews, Patrick Spiller and Daniel Larsen. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Klein; former wife, Nancy Klein; siblings, Lydia Constantine, Martha Klein Larsen, Timothy Klein, Miriam Klein; nieces and nephews, Katherine Hudson, Alfred Spiller III, Joshua Nardulli, Samuel Frederick, Susan Larsen, Thomas Larsen; special friend, David Dale. Bruce was honorably discharged in 1967 from the United States Navy where he served as a Sonarman Petty Officer Second Class. He then graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1969 at Louisiana State University and then graduated with a Master of Science in Game Management in 1971 at Louisiana State University. He faithfully completed over 20 years of service for the federal government, serving the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 1971 - 1980 and the Office of Surface Mining 1980 - 1997. In Knoxville, he was a resident of Windrush Apartments for 22 years. He was Lutheran by faith, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He could always be found either near or on any body of water - whether it was a pool, lake, river or ocean. Bruce loved Louisiana cooking, loved to play the accordion, he was extremely musically inclined, loved to cook on his grill, loved the outdoors, and possessed a deep Czechoslovakian heritage. He also was a passionate LSU fan. Bruce will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul that was loved and will be missed by many. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, in the chapel of Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the . The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary.
