McDANIEL, CHARLES EDWARD (OPI) - In loving memory of Charles Edward McDaniel (OPI), a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband and friend who went to be with his Heavenly Father February 14, 2014. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater. Graduated from Sweetwater High School and joined the United States Air Force from 1955 and served his country 20 years until his retirement in 1975. including one year in Vietnam. He also worked and retired from Tri- County Center in Athens, Tennessee, where he was over the shop and helped with the Special Olympics each year. Survived by wife, Helga (Omi); daughter, Irene and husband Perry Bivens; grandchildren, Ryan Bivens and fiancée Emily McGowan, Jennifer Bivens Dewald and husband Scott; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Eli, Ava, and Connor Dewald; brother-in-law, Horst Jost and wife Ermgard; and children Beatrix and Reiner; and niece Karin Maier. We are grateful you were part of our lives, we love you and forever will miss you. God Bless you until we meet again. Services will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday February 16, 2014, at the Sweetwater Memory Chapel with Dr. Frank Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. prior to service. Interment in Sweetwater Memory Gardens at 2:00 p.m. Monday with full military honors. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the First Baptist Church.
