BUTCHER, CLIFTON H. - age 91 of Clinton, passed away August 23, 2014 at Golden Living- Windwood. He was an Army Lieutenant serving in WWII. After his term in the service he attended Virginia Tech and received his BA degree. He continued his education at Harvard University where he received his MS degree in Languages. He was a member of the Harvard Club and MENSA. Clifton could read and speak 9 different languages including 10 dialects of Chinese. He was a very intelligent man and enjoyed teaching gifted children. He worked for the US Government for many years until his retirement. He was very proficient in ballroom dancing and truly enjoyed the dancing experience. Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Nell Butcher. Survivors: special friends: Brenda Williams, Charles Butterini, Sr.; cousins: Charles Butterini, Jr. and wife Fay and family, Carol Brown and husband Steve and family. There will be a graveside service with full military honors on Wednesday, August 27th at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton for Mr. Butcher.
