HARRIS, EWELL M. - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away on August 5, 2013, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Harris was a veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre from 1942-1946. He was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church for sixty-one years and served as a deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton H. Harris and Eula Joslin Harris; and a brother, Lowell (Edna) Harris. He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Margaret Jackson Harris; children, Ruth Ann Harris (Larry) Droutman of Brentwood, TN, Terry (Teresa) Harris of Knoxville, and Joe (Angela) Harris of Knoxville; grandchildren, Robert (Amy) Sanders, Clay (Tambra) Sanders, Jordan Harris, Jake Harris, Brent (Shelby) Harris, Lucas Norton; and eight great grandchildren all of Knoxville; nephew, Jim Graves of Clarksville, TN. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 p.m., Thursday, at Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service officiated by Pastor Eddie Schwarberg. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Park Baptist Church, 830 Chickamauga Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917.
