BOONE, JIMMY DEAN - age 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, August 1, 2014. He peacefully slipped into his heavenly rest surrounded by his family. He was a long time member of North Acres Baptist Church and most recently a member of Marbledale Baptist Church. Jimmy was a US Marine veteran serving in the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart for wounds received while in combat. He was a retiree from the US Postal Service where he worked for 35 years. Jimmy was an accomplished singer, songwriter, and bass player, performing with his father, Claude Boone, for over 30 years. He was a loving devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He never knew a stranger and was always laughing, singing, and telling stories. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother and father, Claude and Grace Boone; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Mary Frances Warwick; brother, Bobby Boone; brother-in-law, Nick Holbert; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Boone. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Faye Boone, to whom he was married for 49 years; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Michelle R. Boone; son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and Michelle L. Boone; ; brother, Carl Boone; sister, Nancy Holbert; sister, Claudette Jones (Jack); sister-in-law, Bettie Boone; aunt, Ida Mae Ricketts; grandchildren, Lauren (Brian) Taylor, Travis Debusk, Victoria Boone, Alex (Shasta) Boone, Alyssa Pique, Logan Boone, Katelyn Boone, Dean Boone, Chase Boone and Laken Boone; great grandchildren, Liam and Oliver Taylor, and one on the way; special niece, Brenda (Boone) Vanest; and a lifelong friend and co-worker, R.L. Wells. He also leaves behind a host of other close family and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, August 4th, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bridges Funeral Home with service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, August 5th, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, with Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating. In honor of Jimmy, his grandsons will be taking the honor of active pallbearers and R.L. Wells and David Shaw will be honorary pallbearers. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care of Jimmy.
