KENNINGTON, JOHN - age 58, of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday morning, December 28, 2013, at his home. He will be remembered as a gentle, loving and kind man with a servant's heart. John attended New Life Family Worship Center. He participated in Special Olympics where he competed in bocce ball. John was an avid UT and Dallas Cowboy fan. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and care givers at ACT. ACT has been a part of John's life for over 30 years and everyone there became his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Wilda Axley Kennington; grandparents, Walter Axley and Effie Watts Axley, and Florence Kennington. Survived by sisters, Amy Kennington Vichich and husband, Jim, and Beth Kennington Carroll all of Lenoir City; step sister, Linda Sexton and husband, Mike of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 30th, at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Garren officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Tuesday morning and proceed to the Lakeview Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. graveside services.
