BRICHETTO, LAURENCE PAUL "BUNNY" - age 93 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014. Bunny was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army; a proud member of the Class of '38 Old Knoxville High School, member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, graduate of UT, member and elder of First Christian Church, and avid Vol Fan. He was the owner of the Gay Theater in Burlington that later became a bowling alley. Bunny was a Studebaker and Plymouth enthusiast. He won the Covenant Health Senior Award in recognition for his years of service to Mobile Meals. Bunny is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Martha Alderson Brichetto; children and spouses: Larry Brichetto and wife Linda Wolffe, Margo Read and husband Tom, Jeff Brichetto and wife Pam, Gina Wampler and Fred Carden and sister Celeste Brichetto Millen; five grandchildren: Matthew Brichetto and wife Sarah, Lauren Hinkle and husband Chris, Martha Behm and husband Dave, Nicholas Brichetto, and Trae Wampler; two great grandchildren Jase Hinkle and Elizabeth Brichetto; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express gratitude and special thanks to the wonderful caregivers and staff at Ben Atchely Veteran's Home for their compassion and care of Bunny. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at First Christian Church with a celebration of Bunny's life at 7:00 pm with Rev. Matthew Brichetto and Rev. Tyler Thompson officiating. Family and friends will gather at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Wed at 3:00 pm for a graveside service with full military honors.
