LOTT-SCHILCHER, NANCY L. - age 49 of Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013, of breast cancer at NHC-Fort Sanders. She was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, graduated from Stone High School in Wiggins, Mississippi, and received a bachelor of science degree in fashion merchandising and design from Mississippi State University. She later attended Wellesley College and graduate courses at University of Oregon, New York University and Winterthur Museum. As an antiques dealer and appraiser, she was well-traveled and had a fine eye for antiques and collectibles, particularly those of 20th Century Modern America, European and Scandinavian design. She was also politically active and a great supporter of women's rights, animal protection and numerous environmental causes. Preceded in death by parents, Henry R. Lott and Loza Upshaw Lott of McHenry, Mississippi. Survived by son, Julian Lott-Schlicher of Knoxville; and a sister, Patricia S. Lott, also of Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
