WEBER, RICHARD DAVID (DICK) - age 77, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee, where he enjoyed being part of their Angel Food Ministry. Dick was born and raised in Fairmont, West Virginia, and attended Fairmont State University, before joining the Army. He served active duty in Korea and Vietnam, where he received the Army Commendation Medal as well as the Bronze Star Medal. Dick continued serving in the Air Force Reserves for a total of 23 years of military service and retired as a decorated veteran. He relocated to Hagerstown, Maryland, and had a rewarding career with IBM for 25 years. Dick and Peg retired to Lenoir City, Tennessee, in 2001 where he enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. Dick had an unsurpassed love of reading, especially historic war novels. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Margaret (Peg) Kiger Weber; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cindy Weber, Mark and Melissa Weber and Rick and Sally Weber; brother, Daniel Weber; beloved grandchildren, Andrew Weber, Matthew Weber, John Weber, Zachary Weber, Scott, Cole and Sara Jane Weber; great granddaughter, Talia Marie Weber; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, for graveside services at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Highway. Full military honors will be conferred. Also on Friday, the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, Tennessee. The Weber family would like to express their appreciation for the staff of Ben Atchley State Veterans Home, as well as, Dr. Edward Newman and the ER staff and CCU staff of Parkwest Medical Center.
