ROWE, WALTER E. - 85, of Maryville, Tennessee, beloved husband of Eleanore M. Rowe, passed away at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, on July 1, 2013. Walter was the son of Walter J. Rowe and Nina Milligan, born in Lansdowne, Maryland, on September 11, 1927. His family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in his early childhood, where he spent the majority of his life. He led a full and adventurous life with travels during World War II taking him to many parts of the world as a aviation photographer for the Air Force. From running his own service and repair business, to helping build the Bay Bridge, and serving our country, Walter always had amazing stories to tell! Walter is survived by his wife Eleanore; step son, Bruce Rittenhouse and wife, Bobbie; step son, Garey Rittenhouse and wife, Jennifer; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to us all. He enjoyed photography, fishing, carpentry, and flying air planes. Walter was always there to help friends with projects or just to lend a listening ear to those who just needed someone to listen. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Morning View Transitional Care and the Ben Atchley Veterans Home where Walter spent the final years of his life. Their loving care and support meant so much to Walter and his family. The family would also like to thank the staff at Parkwest Hospital for their support as he transitioned to his new life in heaven. Walter's family would like to thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. The family will hold a private burial service in the coming weeks.
