MOORE, LIEUTENANT COLONEL (RETIRED) WILLIAM F., III - age 76, of Kodak, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, at his home. He was retired after 28 years of military service. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam, and worked in the Pentagon while serving for the Joint Chief of Staff. He was an astute historian, and was a professor of American history and an ROTC instructor at Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal along with many more achievements throughout his military career. Lt. Col. Moore also enjoyed his involvement with various military reenactments. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Lucille Moore, II. Survivors: wife, Sandra Moore; sons, William F. Moore, IV and wife, Fenella, Christopher Moore and wife, Danielle; daughters, Margaret Dale Flannery and husband, John, Elisabeth Raye Kimbrell and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Andrew Kimbrell, Timothy Colin Flannery, and Sarah Holland Kimbrell; brothers, David and Donald Moore. Lt. Col. Moore would always make himself available to assist his fellow service men and women, and was very proud to be a part of the United States Military family. His family would be honored to have veterans join them at his service. Funeral service 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
