Gerald Wintermute Obituary
GERALD E. WINTERMUTE

Passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 ,with family at his side.

Gerald was born in East Lansing, Michigan on April 26, 1926, to Foster and Katherine Wintermute. The youngest of four boys, he entered the Navy in 1944 and served aboard the USS Sargent Bay (CVE 83). He married Mary Patricia Lewis in 1947, graduated from UCLA and taught History and English at Crosier Junior High School in Inglewood for over 25 years. He was an avid sailor. He and Patricia founded the sailing club at the Mid-Valley YMCA in Van Nuys and taught weekly sailing classes at Marina Del Rey.

Patricia preceded him in death in 1981. He is survived by his second wife, Anita Wintermute; his two sons and their wives, Ralph and Gretchen Wintermute, and Keith and Jody Wintermute, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday April 26, 2013, 9:00 a.m., at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hill Cemetery.
