Aloys Bernard Mauch, 92, was born in Los Angeles and passed away in Monterey Park, Ca. surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from UCLA, where he played first base for the Bruins. Bernie was employed with Bethlehem Steel for 40 years. Bernie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII as a B25 pilot. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery where he will receive military honors. Bernie is survived by his sons, Martin (Gloria) Mauch of Westminster, Ca. and Lawrence (Mary) Mauch of Huntington Beach. He also leaves his grandchildren, Justin (Christina) Mauch of San Francisco, Jason (Shannon) Mauch of Westminster and Kimberly (David) Barnes of Aliso Viejo, and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, James Mauch of Northern Ca. and Thomas Mauch of Colorado and is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Julia Behrens, his daughter Andrea and his son, Joe.
