August 5, 1922 - July 21, 2014 Barbara was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Hancock Park attending Third Street Grammar and Marlborough Schools. She spent one year at Stanford University and returned home to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology at UCLA and a master's degree at USC. She spent 4 years in England completing her degree in child analytic program at Anna Freud Center in Hampstead, London. When she returned to L. A. she was a supervisor at the Reiss Davis Child Study Center in Mar Vista. She had a private practice in which she organized and led a weekly seminar in child development and treatment for clinicians, as well as providing individual supervision for therapists. When she left Reiss Davis, she was a consultant at the Kennedy Child Study Center in Santa Monica. Barbara had many interests. She loved to travel. Music was a big part of her life, and she played the piano and guitar. She loved jazz, opera and symphony. Her brother, Stanley Carr, is deceased. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Carr Barry, nephews and nieces--Ken Carr, Pat Baxter, David Barry IV, James Barry, and Barbara Barry-Doyle. Barbara will be missed by her family and long-time friends. Services will be private.
