Charles Gold was born in Los Angeles on August 17, 1916. He attended Los Angeles High School, UCLA, Boalt Law School and graduated from Southwestern Law School. During WWII he was a navigator in the Army Air Corp finishing the war as a Captain. After a long career in a family furniture business, he retired. During his 40 year retirement he devoted much attention to family, friends, golf and horse racing. He loved golf and traveled the world playing. Early in the morning, he would spend an hour each day putting. He had nine hole-in-ones. He loved horse racing and spent 40 years in the horse racing business as an owner and fan. His last victory was last week. He was always happiest spending time with his many friends. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruthie, Sons David and his wife Caryn and son Robert and his wife, Karen; and grandsons Jay and Gregory.
Funeral Services Tuesday March 12, at 1:00 PM Hillside Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Friends of The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
