March 5, 1949 - December 16, 2013 Cynthia died tragically in a car accident after an evening of bowling with her league at Corbin Bowl in Tarzana, CA. She is survived by her sister, Victoria Kirk Mouradian; niece, Samantha Mouradian; nephews, William Mouradian (Randall Muntz) and James Mouradian; and cousin, Elizabeth Stacy (Larry). She was pre-deceased by her parents, Helen and Kenneth Kirk, and her cat, Honey. Cynthia was a lifelong resident of Los Angeles, CA except for her college years. She graduated from Marlborough School for Girls in Los Angeles and received her B.A. and M.A. in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Her career included writing for the Hollywood Reporter and Variety, research and recipe development for Stagg Foods, interviews and research for the Los Angeles Times Poll, and research for Scherzer International. Her passion for bowling began as a child and continued until the time of her death. Most recently she bowled with the Del Guyer Sports Trios (since 2008) and regularly participated in local and state 600 Club tournaments with the San Fernando Valley 600 Club. She will also be remembered for her wine knowledge and culinary ability, her love of music and film, her passion for the written word, and her love of travel. Those who knew her will miss her dry wit and humor, her blunt honesty, and dedicated work ethic. Please join her family for a time of Remembrance at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Corbin Bowl: 19616 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA 91356. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in her memory at www.lafoodbank.org.
