David Solomon, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Century City, California on February 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at his graveside at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills on February 18, at 12:00 PM. David was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Simon and Ruby Solomon. He lost his cherished Mother when he was 13 years old. David began college at Penn State and his studies were interrupted to serve in World War II. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps and then moved to Los Angeles to resume his higher education at UCLA. He graduated from UCLA in 1950 having served as Master Frater of the Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity and remained close friends with many of his Brothers and their Families throughout his life. David was a CPA and held prestigious Financial Management positions with Cal Togs/Breton Industries and the Louis Roth Companies. He thoroughly enjoyed his extensive travels throughout the World and particularly liked cruising because of the social interaction, entertainment and opportunity to play bridge. He had an amazing sense of humor that kept his family and friends consistently amused. He supported an array of Charities including Jewish National Fund, American Jewish University, Concern, American Cancer Society and others. Preceded in death by his Sister, Mina Solomon Hirsch. David is survived by Ronald Hirsch, Nephew, Paula Harris, Niece, Marnie Komar, Great Niece and Brandon Hirsch, Great Nephew. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to American Jewish University.
