Ed peacefully passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on May 16, 2013. He is survived by his sons, Justin and Edward, his sisters Michele and Patricia, his nieces, Lauren, Allison and Joy and his great-niece Blair, his nephew Paul and great-nephew, Gregory, his cousins, his Aunt Thelma, and a global network of dear friends. Ed attended LA High school, UCLA and Boalt Hall School of Law. Ed's career took him on an amazing journey where he was often times the first African American to serve in a senior position. Some of his highlights include Senior Member of President Jimmy Carter's advance team, Executive Vice President at BET, and most recently he served as Senior Director of Communications for LA County Supervisor, Mark Ridley-Thomas. Ed's parents, Edward C. Maddox Sr., a prominent attorney and Dr. Marion A. Maddox a distinguished educator proceeded him.
Memorial Services will be on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 1pm AGAPE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITUAL CENTER 5700 Buckingham Pkwy Culver City, CA 90230 In lieu of flowers the Maddox family invites contributions to the
Cancer Fund and donate in the name of Edward Carter Maddox, Jr. We thank you for your kindness.
