January 6, 1919 - December 11, 2013 The family of Florence Schumaker regrettably announces her passing on Wednesday December 11, 2013. Florence is preceded in death by her husband Larry and only son Gary. She is survived by her 5 daughters, nine grand children and one great grandchild. After leaving her family dairy farm in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, her career included high school teacher and Morse Code instructor to airmen in WWII, where she met her husband Larry. She and Larry moved to Westchester, California in 1951 where she was a beloved parishoner of Visitation Parish. Florence worked for the Loyola Branch of the L.A. Public Library until she retired at the age of 80. Her passions in life included her family, traveling the world, reading books, golfing and making friends wherever she went.
