COHEN, Florence Singer West Hills, CA May 10, 1931-March 1, 2013 Florence Singer Cohen, beloved wife of Jerry Cohen of West Hills, California passed away March 1, 2013. Flo loved spending time with her family (especially her two granddaughters) and friends. We remember special trips to Yosemite, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska and Canada. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays, especially cooking festive Rosh Hashanah dinners, chopped liver was her specialty. Annual trips to Disneyland with her granddaughters were a fun-loved tradition. She was an avid reader, reading up to three books a week. Flo worked many years as an assistant to the principal at Canoga Park High School. She was very active in many organizations, including Brandeis, The Heart Foundation (created in memory of her late son, Steven S. Cohen) and a founding member of Hazak Senior Group at Shomreh Torah Synagogue.

For 22 years she courageously battled breast cancer under the care of her compassionate oncologist, Dr. Avrum Bluming. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Jerry, she is survived by he two daughters Illayne Kiel and Laura Cohen, her son-in-law Mark Kiel, her sister Evelyn Singer, her daughter-in-law Eva Weingarten, and her two granddaughters, Aston and Lindsay, the light of her life.
