MAUTNER, Fred F. December 3, 1929 - February 7, 2013 Cherished husband of Marjie through 59 joyous years of marriage; also beloved and mourned by daughter Gail and husband Mario Shaunette, their children, Geneva and Morgan; by son Craig and wife Lorraine, their children, Katrina, Allegra and Marina; and by son Keith and his children, Aja and Jordan. The annual family vacations are happily recalled by all. Fred was born in Berlin, Germany, to Austrian parents, and came to the U.S. from Vienna in 1947, stopping in England for 8 years during WWII. He was a retired CPA /corporate executive and graduate of UCLA and UCLA School of Law. A principled and highly intelligent man, his counsel and business acumen were valued by the several volunteer Boards of Directors he sat on, in non-profit human services and arts, as well as by Wilshire State Bank. Fred's friendly warmth and easy sense of humor made him welcome everywhere. Throughout his life he believed deeply in social justice, supported women's issues and opposed bigotry in any form. He achieved all his goals, including becoming a Diamond Life Master in duplicate bridge. No funeral service. A memorial is scheduled for 1 pm March 3 at Leo Baeck Temple in West Los Angeles.
