May 5, 1933 - May 28, 2014 Grace Marie Halversen, nee Wiechert, was born May 5, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Herbert and Mable Wiecher. She passed away May 28, 2014. She graduated from Peterson Grammer school 1947, Luther High North, 1951, and studied business at Wright Junior College. Grace commenced a successful career in Human Resources with Continental Bank in Chicago when she met George on a blind date. George and Grace dated for three years while he was attending college at Bradley University and later at Northwestern University. They fell in love and were married on September 18, 1954 in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Upon George's graduation from Northwestern University in June, 1955 and his receipt of a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, she accompanied him during his military service to Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and Homestead Air Force Base, Florida where she was employed as base librarian. Upon George's release from active duty in December, 1958, they moved to Los Angeles, California where Grace was employed by Union Bank in its Human Recourses Department while George attended UCLA Law School. Grace excelled in her human resources career and later worked for First Western Bank and subsequently for James Talcott Factors where she worked for thirty seven years and promoted to Assistant Vice President and Manager of the Human Resources Department. Grace and George established their home in Sherman Oaks and resided there for 48 years. They had planned to celebrate their sixty years of marriage on September 18, 2014. She attended Bel Air Presbyterian Church with George. A memorial service for Grace will be held there on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.
