Halperin, Harry Benjamin January 22, 1916 - June 29, 2012 We say goodbye to Harry Benjamin Halperin, 96. Loving husband to Dale for 66 years, father of Jeff, Lisa and Andy, whose hearts ache at the loss of the man they honor and admire, beloved father-in-law to Shelly, David and Teresa, grandfather to, Zach and wife Daphne, Amanda, Gabe, Jack and fiance Tamasin, Molly, and Lauren whose lives have forever been touched by his gruff kindness and enduring strength Harry was a centerpiece in all of their lives. Army air force veteran, bomber pilot, chicken farmer, Cal Berkeley graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Husbandry, businessman, entrepreneur, and staunch defender and caretaker of all creatures barking, feathery, or furry. He created a legacy of love for his many animal companions throughout the years, leaving behind his sweet Rocky who will miss his tender touch. Intrepid Boy Scout, fisherman, skier, camper, avid runner, gardener, 80 year-old rower with much younger men in the Los Angeles Rowing Club, Harry set an example of energy and tenacity that few can match. Harry was a lover of ripe bananas and our Thanksgiving Day turkey carver supreme. No one can replace his style, ethics, personal presence, or golden carving skills. He is an indelible part of our lives, woven into our past, present and future. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Harry?s stamp will remain with us forever. He forms the unbreakable bedrock of our family. He will be sorely missed and never, ever forgotten. Join us Saturday, June 30, 2:00 at the Halperin house to say goodbye to Harry.
