October 6, 1913 - March 4, 2014 Born in Rumford, Maine to Francesco and Incoronata Cipriani, the second of three children. After his father's untimely death the family moved to Bedford, Ohio. His mother married Antonio Pallotta and the family grew to 10 children. Hugo traveled to California, attending UCLA until interrupted by WWII. He served in the Navy for 4 years on the USS Bache. In 1948 he met and married Elizabeth Conti. The couple lived in Alhambra, CA and raised 4 children. He worked at various jobs and retired from the Postal Service. Hugo kept up a life-long correspondence with family and friends and later, using these letters as reference, published his memoir, Va Fa Sa, at age 95. He is survived by Lisa, his wife of 65 years, children, Christine, Frank, Albert and Regina, 7 grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren. His siblings who preceded him in death were Vito Cipriani, Frances Cook, Johnny, Rudolph and Norman Pallotta. He is survived by a brother, Victor Pallotta and sisters, Elma Argenziano, Lila Donofrio, and Margaret Weiland. Hugo will be remembered as a dynamic personality and animated story-teller. He died peacefully at home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese Church in Alhambra on March 7 at 10 am.
