November 18, 1909 - July 22, 2014 Our beloved father and grandfather was born in New York CIty and lived 99 of his 104 years in Los Angeles. As a boy, Hy sang in the Breed Street Schul choir and attended Roosevelt High School. A graduate of UCLA ('32) and Boalt Hall Law School ('35), Hy practiced law for over 50 years. He was a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Judith Libby Kaplan on November 5, 1944, an artist who predeceased him in 1997. Hy and Judy traveled extensively. Hy was an original member of Mountaingate Golf Club and a UCLA Pioneer, one of the first students to attend class at the Westwood campus. He was an avid member of the Plato Society, which offers lifelong learning for seniors through UCLA Extension. He is survived by his daughters, Emerald Goldman of Portland, OR and Deborah Goldman of Palos Verdes, CA, and his grandson Eliot Rosenstock of Los Angeles, CA as well as several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
