July 4, 1923 - November 5, 2013 Born in Hope, AR, survived by Shirley B. (wife of 47 years), of Riverside, stepson, Mark Johnson (Dori), Mark's children: Michael, Matthew & Kailan, daughter-in-law Kari (wife of deceased stepson, Jon Johnson) children: Erik, Kyle & Katie Johnson Palmquist. Survived by sister, Beatrice Gordon Hicks, nieces; Linda Hicks, Debra Nystrom Kelley, Diane Gordon Hart & Melanie Nystrom Verdugo and nephews; Michael & Mark Gordon. James Gordon was a veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed by Van De Kamp Bakery, Sages Bakery & General Mills where he retired in 1987. Member of Glendale Elk's Club #1289 (65 years), the American Institute of Baking (Lifetime) and Trinity Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held on 11/17, at 10:45 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5969 Brockton Ave., Riverside, CA 92506. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church for the James Thomas Gordon Memorial Fund.
