FARRELL, James William (1927-2013) Jim Farrell, a 55 year resident of Palos Verdes Estates, passed away peacefully at home the morning of January 5, 2013. Born in Los Angeles, he attended Hamilton High School, served in the Navy and graduated from UCLA with a business degree. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He had a long career at Hughes Aircraft Company. At the time of retirement, after 38 years, he was Vice President of Administration in the Radar Division. Jim loved to travel, taking pictures and sharing the "well edited" slides with friends and family. He enjoyed biking, beach walks and tennis. He served his church, the First Church of Christ Scientist, Palos Verdes Peninsula in many ways, including treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and Executive Board Member.
The Guest Book is expired.
Jim loved his family-his wife Carla of 61 years, his children, John and his wife Maia of Santa Cruz, Dave and his wife Anne of Rolling Hills Estates, and Dana and her husband Doug Hillary of Austin, Texas. Jim was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren ages 19-25. He will be remembered as a man of few words with a quick wit and an endearing sense of humor.
