July 18, 2014 Julie Gunter passed away Friday July 18, 2014 at the age of 75. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband Dick and their children at her side. Julie was the eldest of Julia and Melvin Locke's three children. She was born in Idaho Falls, but raised in Los Angeles where she lived until she and Dick moved to La Canada in 1977. After graduating from Dorsey High School in 1957, she attended Stevens College for one year then came home to complete her bachelor degree in education at UCLA, where she also became a Tri Delt. Julie and Dick were childhood sweethearts, married for 52 years. They have three children Rick, Jim, and Janna. Julie was a vibrant, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an active member of her community, including Tri Delt & Dorsey Alumni, American Field Service, and Flintridge La Canada Guild. Julie was always generous with her time and talents. Julie is survived by her husband and children, their spouses Denise Gunter and Steve Warren, and her three grandchildren Hannah, Andrew and Jack. A memorial service will be on Saturday July 26th at 1:00pm at La Canada Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow.
