June 16, 1925 - January 16, 2014 Born June 16, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Lillie, and his brother Herbert. Veteran of World War II wherein he served as cadre sergeant at Headquarters Fourth Army, receiving Army Commendation ribbon for such service. Upon discharge from the service in 1946 he enrolled at Western Reserve University. In 1947 he moved to Los Angeles and attended UCLA where he became affiliated with the Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity and his lifelong friends. He received a BA in psychology in 1949. He was then employed as a Social Security Claims Examiner and Agent with the Wage Stabilization Board. In 1952 he attended UCLA School of Law where he received his JD in 1955. He then entered his very active practice of law which included criminal, juvenile, and mental health law. He also served as general counsel and executive vice president of Format Productions Inc., an animation studio started by his brother. Format produced the original Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Lone Ranger, as well as numerous motion picture and television titles, and television commercials. He then continued in the general practice of law until his retirement. He is survived by Judith, his beloved wife of 63 years, daughters, Lori, Terri Tessier (Robert), Julie Lowe (Aaron), his loving grandchildren, Jillian and Caitlin Tessier and Ryan and Jacqueline Lowe, nephews, Lee Klynn and Richard Kroll, and niece Gail Spindler. Burial will be private. Family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions to the Motion Picture and Television Fund, Woodland Hills, California
