Dick was born in Liberal, Kansas, though he was liberal with his love, not his politics. He grew up in Wichita, KS and received his bachelors degree from Washington University in St Louis and later graduated from medical school at the University of Kansas. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Katherine, and came to California. He was the first Endocrinology Fellow at UCLA and practiced in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in Newport Beach for 40 years. Dick gave his heart to his Savior and God filled him with passion for life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and sharing his love for America with family and friends.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 56 year, Kay; his brother, Ralph; his two sons, Russell & Topher; their wives, Johanna & Shelley; and 7 grandchildren, Karina & Annelise, Emma, Grace, Tanner, Garrett & Tucker.
Celebration Service will be Thursday, August 1st at 11am at Grace Fellowship Church, 3170 Redhill Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
