Susan (Susie) MOORE Obituary
MOORE, Susan (Susie) Ellen June 6, 1952 - June 3, 2012 Susie passed away June 3, 2012 at UCLA-Santa Monica, 3 days shy of her 60th birthday, leaving a lifelong legacy of love and saying 'Yes' to life. Susie loved Music - Bach to Billy Joel; Art - Her own 'calligraphics' and banners; and, People - Serious, funny, childlike, individualistic. A native of Los Angeles, she attended Argyle Academy, loving to play bagpipes; graduating from Granada Hills High School, 1972. Susie worked for the So. Cal. Gas Co. for 34 years. With enthusiasm and determination she became one of the first women assigned to service restaurants, then to gain acceptance as a residential gas appliance service rep. When her arthritis limited her strength she became a dispatcher. She is survived by her daughter /goddaughter, Megan Stewart; son-in-law Jason Stewart; grandsons, Max, 12, Connor, 3; brother, David Moore, sisters Barbara LaZear and Jean Campbell-Morgan. She will be missed by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and her 'family' at First Presbyterian Church Encino. Susie was preceded in death by maternal mother Dorothy Ellen Moore, father, Robert Isaac Moore and Doris Hultgren Moore. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at First Presbyterian Church, 4963 Balboa Blvd, Encino, 91316. A reception will follow the service in Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Susie's memory may be made to the Children's Ministry of FPC Encino.
